APACHE 2014 Convention

Welcome to all who heard me speak at the APACHE 2014 Convention.  I'm writing this ahead of time, trusting that we all have an informative and fun weekend.  See?  I walk in faith!  LOL!  If you have any questions which you did not have time to ask over the weekend, feel free to send them to me.  See the contact information on the blog.

Do all to the Glory of God,

Hope

  1. Hi thank you for starting this blog! So I have a couple of questions to start with...What does your daily teaching schedule look like, what curriculum(s) do you use? or have you used in the past? God Bless you!

  2. I'll write an entire post on curiculum choices. But, in answer to your question on schedules: our basic schedule is:
7-7:30am - devotions (Not together. This is our private devotion time, although we are often in the same room).
    7:30-8:00am - breakfast.
8:00-9:00am - general cleaning and getting lunch in the crockpot.
9am-noon: "table time". We try to get all 'workbook' things done early in the morning.
Noon - 1pm: We take an hour for lunch. Oh, and they get popcorn every morning at 10:30am. It's a 15 minute break. I'm ready for a break and they are too by that time!
1pm - 3:30pm - finish school. Afternoons are for read-alouds, science, and other "fun" subjects. Okay, I'm a history fanatic!! I think history is the most interesting subject ever invented!!! So, we do a lot of history.

That's the basic outline. The older boys (high school age) create their own weekly schedule and I don't see a lot of them unless they have a question.

Hope that helps. I'll write a post on this too.

Do All to the Glory of God!
